Your order should be checked as soon after it is delivered as possible to ensure all components are present and satisfactory. If any part of the order is missing, damaged, faulty or does not comply with the specifications you must notify us as soon as practicable.

If we send you an incorrect or faulty item you will be offered a replacement, repair or offered a refund and exemption from collection costs. Any item to be returned or replaced must be in the same condition as delivered.

Timber.

Timber is a natural product and prone to changes in appearance, including some movement and the occurrence of small knot holes or splits due to changes in temperatures and weather conditions. Any splits, knots, warping or similar visual imperfections in the timber will not affect the structural integrity of the product in any way, are not considered to be damage, and do not render the product unfit for purpose. Exposure to sunlight can also cause discolouration to the product.

Whilst every effort is made to hand pick timber without visible knotholes or splits there may be occasions where timber is selected in good faith that contains what appears to be a solid knot. Over the course of time / during movement of the product etc. it may occur that these small knot holes are then dislodged from the timber leaving a small knot or crack. Unfortunately we cannot be held responsible for this maturing of the product and can only offer our best advice on how to deal with this situation in the unlikely event that it should occur.

Throughout the year timber can appear to have moved and cause daylight to appear through the joints. This is by no means considered a fault of the product and is caused by shrinking and expanding due to changes in temperature.

If a delivery cannot be completed because you or your representative were not present, access was restricted, or there was no suitable location in which to leave the goods, they will be returned to our warehouse, and you may be liable for all costs associated with a second delivery. The cost of this will be worked out by the delivery post code and vehicle required to do the delivery.

Once goods have been received, they become the buyers responsibility.

Aftercare.

To prolong the life of your garden building, we recommend you adhere to the following information:

  • Always check there are no overhanging branches or leaves above your building, this can wear away the felt or break off and damage the roof.

  • Check you have no puddles of water collecting under your shed.

  • All door furniture must be oiled on a regular basis.

  • Silicone seals may need to be replaced when required.

  • The exterior of your garden building features treated timbers (treatment type depends on range of building, excluding Log Cabins that are supplied untreated.). We recommend treating the building once installed to waterproof the timbers with a timber treatment that is either oil, solvent or PVC based. If water penetration occurs we recommend you seal your building with a waterproof paint or sealant – more than one coat may be required, check the manufacturers recommendations. Please allow adequate space around your building for future maintenance.

  • Gutters can be fitted – this stops drips of water being blown on to the building, and also stops splash back onto the bottom of the building.

  • If your garden building is erected in damp inclement conditions, you must ensure you leave adequate ventilation to allow the building to dry. If you fail to ventilate the building whilst timbers are drying out, condensation will occur. This will produce drips or runs of water inside the building, which may be mistaken for leaks. Condensation will also build up on the inside of the windows.

  • We use heavy duty felt, this is the best on the market because it is manufactured with a polyester backing. It can move with atmospheric conditions, this is out of our control and will not effect the performance.

No timber treatment that is given to any building protects them from water ingress, that can occur during spells of rainfall. We recommend treating your building once installed with either timber treatment that is either oil, solvent or PVC based. Water ingress can also occur during spells of rainfall. This is remedied easily by coating your building per the advice above. Please note that if your building has been delivered during rainfall, our buildings are delivered on an open, flatbed truck therefore exposed to the elements. This in turn can give the impression that your building has allowed water enter the building – this is not the case. We strongly recommend waiting for a dry day when your building has had time to dry, then apply a timber treatment that is either oil, solvent or PVC based to waterproof your building.
